Bruce L. Dorner
Bruce L. Dorner has been awarded a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a J.D. from New England School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of New Hampshire, The Federal District Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
He is one of a select group of attorneys who is certified in the practice of Collaborative Law and also serves as a senior mediator/arbitrator under Rule 170 for the Superior Court of the State of New Hampshire. His service as a mediator has been recognized by a special award from the President of the New Hampshire Bar Association. He was recognized as the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in 2005 for his dedication to serving the needs of those who were not capable of affording legal services.
Bruce has authored hundreds of articles on a broad range of legal topics and lectured around the country and internationally educating attorneys on the best uses of technology and practice management. He is the legal columnist for Londonderry Times. His skill as an educator has been recognized by the award of the American Bar Association General Practice Division Educator of the Year for 2007.
He was the founding chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association Technology Section and served as the chair of the Law Practice Management Section. At the American Bar Association level he serves as the chair of the Technology Committee of the General Practice Solo and Small Firm Division. Additionally, he was vice-chair of the Computer and Technology Division of the Law Practice Management Section and is a past chair of the Solo and Small Firm Division. For many years, Bruce held a seat on the governing Board of ABA Techshow. He has served as the editor of Word Progress, the ABA newsletter for word processing and document management, and served as a contributing editor to Flying Solo Volume II, published by the ABA. He has completed the maximum term of office as a member of the Governing Council of the Law Practice Management Section. He has also served as a member of the ABA Standing Committee on Solo and Small Firm Practitioners.
Mr. Dorner is a past member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Law Technology News by American Lawyer Media, Inc. He is a coauthor of the column Circuit Court, which appeared for several years in Law Office Computing Magazine. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Technology & Practice Guide, published by the ABA General Practice Solo and Small Firm Division. His column on law office technology and management appears in LawyersUSA and at www.lawyersusaonline.com. He has lectured and appeared in video presentations on law office automation and management for many bar associations, the ABA, and for private corporations. His office conducts testing and evaluation of computer software and components for a number of manufacturers and developers. In addition to a vibrant law practice, he offers computer and management consulting services for solo and small firm law practices in the New England region.
